Ha ha happy Halloween!

Hello everyone
As promised here is the Halloween edition of class RL's blog.
So before you fill yourselves with sweets and run round the house screaming or hide under the stairs waiting to jump out at someone (sounds like a typical night in the Lewis household really) have a look at some of the things we were up to last week.
There was fun and games in the playground on what to most people was a wet and miserable day but guess what.. IT WASN'T TO US!! Whatever the weather we'll all find a way to have fun (Note for Mr England.. we were learning too of course) ;)
And then there was the LAST DAY OF THIS HALF TERM (sorry, did I sound a bit too excited then?) Before the children (and staff) could have a well deserved break we had a very busy day being skeletons, witches, cats, zombies, Devils and a whole host of other characters.
So without further ado let me introduce class RL's rogues gallery *drum roll*

Until next time

Horror and suspense...

Good evening ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls!
This is just a very quick blog to say a HUGE THANK YOU for all the effort that went into the outfits for the children today. They all looked fantastic, I'm so glad we didn't have a competition because I certainly could not have called a winner.
Talking competition though... Another HUGE THANKYOU goes to you all for helping class RL win the attendance teddy and award for the SECOND TIME last week!!

Sooo the horror has been covered with the outfits today so what about the suspense I hear you cry?? Wellll that comes now... I said it was a quick blog and that is what this is, time has been against me today so all you are getting FOR NOW is a couple of pics... THE REST OF THE SPOOKY GOINGS ON (& other school antics) will be posted on........ HALLOWEEN

Mwahahahaaaaaaaaaaa

AUTUMN, hedgehogs, MUSIC, hedgehogs and much much more (hedgehogs)

Hello everyone
A week in a reception class is a very busy week so Monday seems like it was a rather long time ago... Until we remember the weather. Who could forget the windy start to the week? Well, it wasn't just the wind that was blowing round here.. We had a HUGE box of musical instruments outside (I don't think anyone could have coped with them inside) and the children LOVED it! They had a fantastic time blowing, honking, tooting, whistling, squeaking, banging, crashing.. I think you might get the idea by now.. There would have been more pictures of all this but to be honest I gave up trying to hold my ears whilst clinging onto my tablet and thought I'd join in too so I swapped the tablet for jumping around on the noisy stepping stones.
(Apologies for that but I can agree with the children, it IS fun!)

Aswell as our usual activities this week the class embraced Autumn and we have had boxes of leaves, seeds and conkers to explore (thank you for helping with your donations for this). The children have painted apples using small paint brushes to hone their painting skills. They have used Autumn colours in the painting area and have made hedgehogs on both the creative and play dough tables. Oh have they made hedgehogs. Many many hedgehogs. You might be able to tell when you see the pictures (and this was only a few of them).

Hope you enjoy the blog and the pictures, as always please feel free to make comments. I'm off to dream of hedgehogs playing recorders..

We've splashed more than Peppa this week!

Hello everyone

Get ready for a barrage of pics because we have been SUPER busy this week so I will keep the chat short and the gallery long. Every area of the classroom has been a hive of activity but the highlight of the week and the MOST fun was had outside on a day that would keep most grown ups indoors muttering at the window. Not us though, OOOOO NOOOOO! We laughed at the clouds, threw caution to the wind, donned full waterproofs (yes Miss Latham & Mrs Lewis too) and splashed in puddles so much it would have made Peppa jealous. Ok so a few socks got soggy and a few hairdos were floppy but the smiles and shrieks of laughter could be seen and heard throughout the play area.
Enjoy...

Activity day, a spot of yoga and dressing up..

Hello everyone
This week has been so busy it has flown by!
Thank you very much for all the Harvest donations, the children were so pleased to be able to add their tins and food items to the huge display on the stage. We had our first venture into the hall to sit and watch a year 1 class put on a fabulous Harvest assembly, the children sat beautifully throughout and we were very proud of them.
Later in the week we learned the letters c and k. To help remember the sounds we had castanets and Spanish dresses in the home corner. What can I say... well, they were VERY popular and I hope you like the pictures :)
P.E. this week was fun as we all had a try to make bridges, to balance and to strike various yoga poses (Mr Airnes was very kind and had Mrs Lewis join in with all that, gee thanks).
We ended the week with a very successful activity day. It was brilliant with lots of things going on both in the classroom and out, everyone was kept very busy! If you enjoyed it or if you missed out then you will be pleased to hear there will be another activity day near Christmas, we hope you can join us.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.

What a wonderful class

For the last time... hello everybody! It is usually at the start of a blog I say something like 'oo hasn't this week gone by quickly...
